Discrimination Questions

Different

When using a Different question, a panellist need to select the sample that he/she thinks is different/odd. This question type is used in Triangle tests. A triangle design contains blocks of three samples which are a combination of two products, for example products A and B. Blocks will look something like this: A-A-B, B-B-A or A-B-B.

The samples are presented to the panelist labeled with their blinding code. When a panelist selects A (386) when an A-A-B combination is presented, the system stores INCORRECT in the database; it was not the ODD product. When the panelist would have selected B (763), the ODD product, the system would have stored CORRECT as an answer.
When Mandatory is set to Yes the panelist is forced to answer the question.
With the Horizontal option you can change the presentation of the question. Items can be displayed horizontally or vertically.

Background color and Background hover are ways to customize the color schemes while Disable hover enabled/disables the hover option.

Show on switch is the trigger set up to show the specific question while Extra info will give the panellist additional information when hovering on the question mark.

Similar or Different

When using a Similar or Different question, a panellist need to select the sample that he/she thinks is similar to the reference product.
This question type is used in Duo-Trio tests. A duo-trio design contains blocks of three samples which are a combination of two products, say product A and B.
For instance: REF(A)-436(A)-386(B), REF(B)-B-A

When Mandatory is set to Yes the panelist is forced to answer the question.
With the Horizontal option you can change the presentation of the question. Items can be displayed horizontally or vertically.
The user can also choose to select either the same or different sample by clicking on the Same or Different option.
Background color and Background hover are ways to customize the color schemes while Disable hover enabled / disables the hover option.

Show on switch is the trigger set up to show the specific question while Extra info will give the panelist additional information when clicking on the question mark.

Different or Similar

When using a Different or Similar question, a panelist can answer whether the samples they received are the same or different.
This question type is used in Simple Difference test. The necessary design contains blocks of two samples which are a combination of two products, say product A and B.
For instance: A-A, A-B, B-B

When Mandatory is set to Yes the panelist is forced to answer the question.
With the Horizontal option you can change the presentation of the question. Items can be displayed horizontally or vertically.
The textual option displayed to the panelist in regards to the same and different option can be set up in the Same Text and Different fields.

Background color and Background hoveare ways to customize the color schemes while Disable hover enabled / disables the hover option.

Show on switch is the trigger set up to show the specific question while Extra info will give the panelist additional information when clicking on the question mark.

Comparison (Forced)

When using a Comparison (Forced) question, a panelist can answer which sample they prefer. The panelist is forced to make a choice.
This question type is used in Pairwise Comparison test. The necessary design contains blocks of two samples which are a combination of two products, say product A and B.
For instance: A-B, B-A, B-A

The samples are presented to the panelist labeled with their blinding code and the sample that is preferred is stored.
When Mandatory is set to Yes the panelist is forced to answer the question.
With the Horizontal option you can change the presentation of the question. Items can be displayed horizontally or vertically.

Background color and Background hover are ways to customize the color schemes while Disable hover enabled / disables the hover option.

Show on switch is the trigger set up to show the specific question while Extra info will give the panelist additional information when clicking on the question mark.

Comparison with Equal (Not Forced)

When using a Comparison with Equal (Not Forced) question, a panelist can answer which sample they prefer or choose to prefer them both equally.
This question type is used in Pairwise Comparison test. The necessary design contains blocks of two samples which are a combination of two products, say product A and B.
For instance: A-B, B-A, B-A

The samples are presented to the panelist labeled with their blinding code and the sample that is preferred is stored. In the the panelist thinks the samples are the same then a zero is stored.
When Mandatory is set to Yes the panelist is forced to answer the question.
With the Horizontal option you can change the presentation of the question. Items can be displayed horizontally or vertically.
The textual option displayed to the panelist can be set up in the Same Text fields while the Same Position option sets up the position of the 'same' answer in the options list (default set at '2'). The Add Position Description can be enabled to add the position description to the blinding codes. The position can be set up in the design section.

Background color and Background hover are ways to customize the color schemes while Disable hover enabled / disables the hover option.

Show on switch is the trigger set up to show the specific question while Extra info will give the panelist additional information when clicking on the question mark.

Tetrad

With the question type Tetrad panelists will have to drag samples from the design to certain groups. Groups have to be created by the user beforehand.

To set up a tetrad question groups will have to be created by adding items will as possible answer options. Use the  button to add items.

When Randomize is set to Yes the display order of the items will randomized during runtime. When randomize is set to No, items will not be randomized every time the question is asked. If randomize is set to once the subquestions will only be randomized once, and the items will be in the same order for each product.
When Mandatory is set to Yes the panelist is forced to answer the question.
Left label is the text shown on the left side of the scale and Right label is the text shown on the right side of the scale.

  1. Use Display: show the display text of the item or sample code.
  2. Use Image: shows an image (only JPG images!) if available.
  3. Use Text: shows the description of an object if available.
  4. Use Stacking: allow panelists to drag multiple objects into one bin.
  5. Use Score: will save the answers using a Score Table.

Explanation on Scoring Tables
This table is used when Use Score is Yes. Depending on this table the system does not store the order of the values, but a certain score.
An example of a scoring table is:
#description=10
This table will add 10 points for each sample with a description that is placed in a bin with the same value as the description. So when a panelist places a sample with a description Group A in bin with value Group A 10 points are added to the total score.
  1. Object Width: sets the horizontal size of the object boxes in pixels.
  2. Bin Rows: sets the amount of bin rows.
  3. Object Height: sets the vertical size of the object boxes in pixels.
  4. Image scale: sets the percentage you want the images to shrink.
Background color, Active background color and Background hover are ways to customize the color schemes.

Show on switch is the trigger set up to show the specific question.
