To assign permissions to users, different types of profiles have been created. Below is a brief explanation of the different profiles used in EyeQuestion:
Data Analyst: users with this profile can analyse project data through EyeOpenR, access the dashboard or run autoreports.
Express User: users with this profile can create, edit, remove, and allocate Express projects only. Users with this profile can also access the monitors.
Monitor User: users with this profile can access the monitor and calendar where project progress and planning can be viewed.
Panel Manager: users with this profile can create, edit, and remove panels, panellists and categories. Categories can be used to save panellists information. Users with this profile can also access and download the export accounting files.
Project Manager: users with this profile can create, edit, remove, and allocate projects as well as run a report or analyse project data through EyeOpenR.
Template Manager: users with this profile can create, edit, and remove project templates and e-mail templates. Users with this profile can also manage the custom question library.
Test Designer: users with this profile can create regular, non-express, projects based on an existing template or existing project.
Translator: users with this profile can translate textual information and session data in projects.
User Manager: users with this profile can create, edit, and remove users. Users with this profile can also set location and project folder restrictions.
Audit Manager: users with this profile can access to the file browser section and download the log files.
These are standard profiles. It is also possible to select multiple profiles for a user. This is useful if a user needs to perform multiple tasks in EyeQuestion. To access all EyeQuestion functionalities, the following user profiles need to be assigned: Project Manager, Panel Manager, Template Manager and User Manager.
Profile is a new feature in EQ5 and will be explained as a separate topic under system settings. The matrix below will provide an overview of role/responsibilities assigned to each profile.

Use the “search” tab to search for existing users

To get list of users linked to a certain profile, use “select profile” tab. For instance, you want to know which users are “data analyst” then select that profile from “select profile” drop-down.

The users table have a column called “Locked” which shows users who are locked
i.e. they can’t access EyeQuestion. This happens if users enter incorrect password multiple times (more than 5 times or depending to your password policy). After getting locked if this user clicks “forgot password” to get automatic password, then no email will be sent from EQ. In this case, other user (with same access level as the locked user or higher access level) will have to turn off lock option and reset the password.

To turn off the lock click on edit icon
under the “actions” column. Click on locked on to disable it (when lock is enabled it is blue in color with text “on” and when it is turned off the color changes to white with text “off”)

The window to edit user’s information is different from previous EyeQuestion versions . You will find some extra tabs, like profiles, categories, training requirements and training history.

Personal information: In this tab you will find basic information about the user. It is same as it was in EQ4.
Profiles: This tab will show all the profiles linked to the user. The screenshot below shows the profiles of an example user. If you want to remove a profile from the user’s account then click on trash icon.

Categories: It is characteristics of a panelists which contain
This tab will show the categories linked to the user’s profile.
